In the book of Genesis, chapter 1 verse 3,God said let there be light and there was light. Now this was done on the first day of creation, and on the fourth day of creation, verses 14 thru 19, God created the sun, the moon, and the stars. So what was the light that was created on the first day of the creation, if it was not the sun, the moon, and the stars? To help us understand this Light, let us look at the gospel of John, the first chapter, verses 1 thru 14. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. ["Nothing was created without the word that was with God and was God." ] In Him was life; and the life was the light of men, and the Light shinith shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not. ["In the word that was Him, was life, and that life was the Light of men."] There was a man sent from God whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him, might believe. ["Now the Him is refered to as the Light".] He was not that light, but was sent to bear witness of the Light. That was the True Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth. ["Jesus said that He was the light of the world. Jesus also said, If you have seen me, you have seen the Father. The Christ was the Father who was with the Father, and was the father in the beginning when He said, let there be Light and there was Light. That Light was and is the Christ that came into the world and gives light to every man who comes into the world. Christ was with the Father in the beginning. Verily verily I say unto you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. [" He is not talking here about forgiving those who sin against them or us. We are commanded to forgive those who sin against us or our heavenly Father cannot forgive us. He is expressing a responsibility of the ministers of God to free those of sin who repent and seek forgiveness. Don't leave a seeking heart, bound in sin. Have mercy on those seeking mercy. Know what Spirit you are of."] Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for His seed remains in him and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Let us love one another, for love is of God, he that loveth not, knoweth not God, for God is LOVE.
